The article from the Democracy Development Program (DDP) is a reflection on both DDP’s understanding of, and response to, the xenophobic attacks in April 2015. This paper details the DDP’s response of mobilising relevant stakeholders to provide a comprehensive and sustainable response to the xenophobic crisis as well as its stance to provide targeted community dialogues and constant engagement with local government to ensure that the plight of the African migrant community is protected and their human rights are upheld, so that xenophobia does not rear its ugly head time and time again.
