The purpose is to inform parliamentarians, members of the parliament (MPs), senators, parliamentary officials, academics and the civil society about the results of APEC and in particular about the "Bangkok Goals".
APEC (Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation) is a forum for economic cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region. Its main goal is to promote liberalization of trade and investment-cooperation with social dimensions and other developments aspects. Thailand is assigned to host up to 14 APEC events throughout 2022, including the APEC Leaders’ Summit held from November 18-19. The major announcement during APEC was the agreement on the Bangkok’s Goals: 1) Sustainable Trade and Investment, 2) Sustainable management based on environment and biodiversity conservation, 3) Achieving net zero greenhouse gas emissions in the economic zone, and 4) Sustainable Management of Waste Disposal.
Remarks: The seminar will be conducted in Thai & English with simultaneous interpretation (Thai-English) provided.
Coffee break and lunch will be provided without any charge at the seminar.
