Online-Seminar
Details
While seen very differently in different parts of the world, the Russian-Ukraine war is standing out due to the amplitude with which it resonates with the reshuffling of global order and the larger geopolitical trend. Already, this war has constituted a widely underestimated risk of nuclear attacks, caused an epic stream of refugees in Europe, contributed to a severe food and energy crisis, and intensified supply chain disruption on a global scale.
Likely, this war will have long-term consequences for Europe as well as Asia and the world. Rather, it will also prove to become a main catalyst and accelerator of the factors relevant to the outlook of global and regional multi-polarity. Arguably, this war might even be seen as a significant driver and central expression of a long-lasting global transformation comparable to E. H. Carr´s The Twenty Years' Crisis, 1919–1939.
Against this backdrop, CPG and KAS will hold an online conference to reflect on and discuss the dynamics presently raveling in Europe. Thereby, the activity aims to identify mutual implications and their contemporary effects on Europe, Asia, and the global order.
This online event is part of the Europe in Review (EiR) Online Conference Series on European - Asian Affairs, jointly provided by the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, Thailand Office, the German-Southeast Asian Center of Excellence for Public Policy and Good Governance (CPG), and the Asian Governance Foundation (AGF).
*The event will be conducted in English.
