Discussion
Details
The discussion is meant to illuminate the concept and practice of the innovative city lab framework as a tool for local governance in Thailand. City Labs are participatory platforms where local governments collaborate with diverse stakeholders to learn about and exercise new ways of dealing with urban challenges. They test and experiment with innovative methods and tools in a real-world setting to better understand and shape societal transformations.
“City Lab” is a European concept (Leipzig Charter). Its goal is to increase citizen engagement, good governance, social innovations, and to encourage experiment for sustainable structural transitions. This approach reflects the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Urban Agenda for the EU, which continue to shape much of framework in city lab.
