KASSID Summer Meeting 2023

An Outlook on Thailand’s Environment-Related Policies after the 2023 Election – Training on Pitching, Presentation, and Story-telling skills

In 2021, Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung started a new scholarship program called “Konrad Adenauer Scholarship for Social and Innovative Development (KASSID)” for Thais who are interested in pursuing a Master’s degree or currently studying a Master’s degree in educational institutions in Thailand. The goals are to support Thai students with a will to contribute to the state and society; and promote intercultural exchanges and expand international academic networks. In 2022-2023, KAS continues to grant the KASSID scholarships to Master’s degree students, and is committed to support their academic success as well as to develop other soft-skills relevant to the promotion of their work on social and innovative projects.

Details

On 23rd June 2023, KAS Thailand will organize a summer meeting for recipients of the KASSID program. The meeting aims to bring together students of the first and second batch to share their study progress, projects, difficulties, including their future plans. In the aftermath of the 2023 General Election in Thailand, KAS will offer a talk on environment-related policies. Bangkok Tribune, a KAS’ cooperation partner with a specialization in investigative reports on environment in the urban and Mekong area will share their perspective on the current situation, and reflect on opportunities and concerns according to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by the prospective government. This summer meeting will serve as the last official meeting for the KASSID scholars Batch 1 who are going to graduate their degrees in July. Therefore, a training to advance their story-telling, or pitching skills will be provided to prepare the scholars for effective presentations of their graduating, or social and innovative projects. Also, the event will serve as a networking platform for the KASSID scholars to help them stay connected and exchange their ideas with one another even after the scholarship period.
