"Access to Information" - Capacity Building Workshop for Local Government Officials in Lango Sub-Region
In cooperation with Hub for Investigate Media (HIM), the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung is organizing a workshop for elected leaders of the Lango Sub-Region to highlight the importance of releasing information for their citizens to improve good governance and civic participation.
Dialogue between South-Sudanese refugees and Ugandans
Uganda is pursuing a very progressive refugee management approach. In Lamwo district, refugees from Southern Sudan represent 19.2 percent of the total population. This event aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the situation in the camp and a platform for a constructive dialogue between Ugandans and fugitives.
DataFest Kampala is the first annual international data & communications event in East Africa. 250 people from different branches will connect with each other, while discussing issues such as Big Data or Fake News.
National Universities Debate Competitions
The winners of the four Regional Debate Competitions will now compete against each other in debates on issues such as youth and women empowerment. Competitive debate has shown to be an effective forum for young people to engage in discussions on gender, democracy, good governance and youth participation.

Smart Technologies for Uganda's Agricultural Sector
The agricultural sector is very important for the future growth of Uganda's economy. Climate change is already threatening this possibility. Unity in Diversity – Intercultural Dialogue for Peace in South Sudan

Launching a Platform for Political Leadership Advancement for South Sudanese Youth
During the inaugural workshop held in Juba on 13th & 14th of February 2020, the political leadership advancement training brought together 30 youth who have demonstrated leadership potentials through previous volunteer engagements and professional work and are interested in furthering their leadership skills and political competencies which will allow them to actively take part in political leadership and civic processes.
Promoting good governance in a multiparty system at the district level
Together with the Directorate of National Guidance (DNG) we hosted a two days training for district leaders in Lira in order to promote political pluralism and stronger collaboration among the appointed and elected leaders at the local government level.

The Konrad Adenauer-Stiftung, LéO Africa Institute and Stanbic Bank are therefore bringing together young and aspiring thinkers of a new generation. Already in its third year, the Young and Emerging Leaders Project (YELP) brings together over 30 change makers in various fields to reflect and learn more about servant leadership and why it is a key ingredient for addressing the 21st century leadership and development challenges. From 7th to 9th February 2020, we welcomed 21 fellows of the third cohort to their graduation seminar.
