The KAS RLPSEE is the main partner of the educational project "Learning about the Holocaust", coordinated by the One World Romania Association with the support of the "Elie Wiesel" National Institute for the Study of Holocaust in Romania, People in Need, the Czech Centre in Bucharest and the National Council Against Discrimination.
The goal of this workshop is to familiarize teachers with the advantages of using documentary film in education, and to identify the resources and means of integrating these films in the classroom. Moreover, we want to emphasize the importance of talking in class about discrimination and the Holocaust in Romania.
The tutors of the workshop are Vlasta Vyčichlová (People in Need) and Alexandru Solomon (One World Romania Association). The workshop consists in a case study based on the film Charging the Rhino, by Simcha Jacobovici. At the end of the workshop, all the participants will receive a DVD copy of the film and a booklet to be used as course support.
