Waste is an inextricable and unavoidable component of societies. At the same time, it is one of the most pressing issues, cities have to deal with. That is why, this report describes a multi-stakeholder approach, which was used to develop a local regulation in the City of Battambang. It shall be a motivator and inspiration for other Communes in Cambodia or local governments around the world to tackle the challenges related to this resource and to find a step-by-step way to make use of the potential of modern urban resources management instead of just trying to get waste out of sight.
