Dialogue on deaf people's rights

Deaf people face great challenges within the communities in terms of being misunderstood or being ill-treated. The Lindelani Youth Forum and the Democracy Development Program took the initiative to host a dialogue on the topic.

The aim of the dialogue is to create a platform for Deaf people to be educated on their rights, and also for the community to be educated on Deaf people rights. The community will gain knowledge and be able to recognize and respect the rights of deaf people as we have deaf people living among the community.

2. Format and programme

The LYF and DDP aim to create and provide awareness by educating the community of Lindelani on issues concerning the wellbeing and the rights of Deaf people living in the area.

The programme plans to address these issues by engaging in dialogues which will continue educating the community as a whole and making sure that deaf people enjoy their full human rights.
