Tilmann Feltes has been heading up the Tanzania country office based in Dar Es Salaam since April 2020. Before that he worked as policy advisor in the division for Sub-Saharan Africa, in which context he also served as acting head of the Regional Programme on Energy Security and Climate Change in Sub-Saharan Africa for 7 months from Berlin. From 2015 until 2017 Mr Feltes was a trainee at the KAS country office South Africa.
After his studies in political sciences with focus on international relations in Freiburg, Bochum and Dundee/UK he was a project assistant at the KAS partner organisation Democracy Development Programm (DDP) as well as a lecturer and PhD Student at the Urban Futures Centre in Durban, South Africa. He gained further practical experience at the Catholic Diocese Rottenburg-Stuttgart, the German Football League (DFL) as well as at the Arnold-Bergstraesser-Institute, for which he conducted intensive fieldwork in Kosovo. In addition to this he worked on national and international projects of the GIZ as well as at the faith based organisation Fe y Alegría in Venezuela.
