Jugend fordert mehr Einfluss auf demokratische Entwicklung

Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung veranstaltet europäisch-arabischen Jugendkongress

Die Enttäuschung und Perspektivlosigkeit von Jugendlichen war einer der wichtigsten Antriebsmotoren für den arabischen Frühling. Viele junge Menschen riskierten ihr Leben, um politische Veränderungen in ihren Heimatländern herbeizuführen. 15 Monate später sind die ersten neuen Entscheidungsträger und Parlamente gewählt, doch der Einfluss der Jugendlichen auf die Bewegung ist zurückgegangen. In der Akademie der KAS trafen nun 150 junge künftige Führungskräfte aus arabischen Ländern und Europa zusammen, um über ihre Forderungen und Ziele im Zusammenhang mit dem arabischen Frühling zu sprechen.

Ein Jahr nach Ausbruch des arabischen Frühlings ist Geduld gefragt

Die europäische Begeisterung über den arabischen Frühling vor einem Jahr ist in Teilen Sorge und Ernüchterung gewichen, denn durch den Aufstieg der Muslimbrüder in Ägypten etwa kommen Zweifel am demokratischen Wandel auf. Auf die jungen Menschen nördlich und südlich des Mittelmeers wird es in Zukunft ankommen, Lehren zu ziehen und den Dialog miteinander zu suchen. Eine Plattform dafür bot der arabisch-europäische Jugendkongress der Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung.

European-Arab Youth Congress at the Konrad Adenauer Foundation

What do young Europeans think about the Arab countries one year after the "Arab Spring" began? And what perceptions do young people from Arab countries have of Europe and Germany as potential role models? Young people from all over Europe and Arab countries met for two days at the Konrad Adenauer Foundation in Berlin to discuss what can be learned from other people's point of views on the situation.

From March 28 until April 1, 2012, the Working Group of Young Foreign Policy Experts of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation conducted a conference in Baku, discussing the full range of issues characterizing the Azerbaijani-German relationship with a broad selection of Azerbaijani scholars, politicians, and activists. The Working Group is grateful for the hospitality of our Azerbaijani partners and the high quality of the exchange.
