Details

The election of Donald Trump marks a new era in the international world order and in the transatlantic relations specifically. Does the “Trump doctrine” translate into a permanent rejection of the main assumptions of American postwar politics? Will the new American foreign policy further divide and insulate Europe, limiting its actual ability to act on the international level? What conclusions should the EU and its member states take from the President’s statements and decisions, e.g. the ones regarding the climate agreement, trade, or NATO? And what does this shift mean for Poland, for whom relations with the US remain vital for its security policy?

We invite you to a debate between:

Jeremy Shapiro – Research Director at ECFR, former advisor at the U.S. Department of State and the primary author of EU-US Power Audit;

Ulrich Speck – Senior Research Fellow at the Brussels office of Elcano Royal Institute;

Patrycja Sasnal – Head of the MENA Programme at the Polish Institute of International Affairs PISM.

EU-US Power Audit, a new report by ECFR, will be presented during the event.

The debate will be held in Polish and English (simultaneous translation).

Please confirm your participation until the 21st of June via registration form.
