The SMART Youth Parliament 2026 programme, organised by the Secretariat of the House of Representatives with the support of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) Thailand Office, will host its Model Parliament Competition “Parliamentary Motions” on 19 August 2026 at the Parliament Building, following the orientation session held earlier this year. The programme aims to strengthen young people's understanding of democratic governance by introducing them to the legislative process, particularly parliamentary oversight of the executive branch through Model Parliament activities.
The competition will bring together students from four participating schools, who will engage in active learning by taking part in simulated House of Representatives proceedings. Through this hands-on experience, participants will develop a practical understanding of parliamentary procedures and legislative decision-making.
SMART Youth Parliament 2026 seeks to provide young people with hands-on learning experiences to make parliamentary processes more accessible and engaging, fostering active citizenship while promoting greater public understanding of Thailand's democratic institutions.
