The debate on Africa’s positioning in the international justice system has been a prolonged one. With all six cases currently before the ICC originating from this one continent there are accusations that the international justice institution is biased against Africa. Following the unsuccessful efforts by African political heads to have the cases against Kenyan President and his deputy withdrawn from the ICC, there explicit discussions emerged within the African Union the withdraw of Africa from the ICC. This debate is in several aspects an ongoing one.
FAD with the support of KAS has organised an intellectual discourse on the place of Africa in the international justice system. The public lecture will be delivered by a Ugandan Judge and President of the Appeals Chamber at the ICC, Hon. Justice Daniel Ntanda Nsereko at Makerere University in Kampala on Thursday, 14th November.
