Uganda Green Growth Summit

This summit is a contribution to support transition toward a greener growth in Uganda. The objective is to bring the topic to a non-specialist audience, provide policy and technical solutions available, in order to support a re-think of individual business strategies. The summit is open to the core stakeholders of the Uganda Green Growth Development Strategy; that is; Government, Civil Society, private sector, researchers and academia. The main category targeted is the private sector.

Das Dilemma der Mittelklasse Ugandas – dargestellt von drei Fotografen

Die Mittelschicht in Afrika, welche durch bestimmte Kriterien wie Sekundarschulabschluss, angemessene Wohnbedingung und qualifizierte Beschäftigung definiert wird, nimmt zu. Obwohl die Mittelklasse Ugandas einen eher geringen Teil der Bevölkerung ausmacht, stellt die derzeitige Urbanisierungsdynamik im Land eine Chance für den demographischen Aufstieg dieser sozialen Schicht dar. Als Teil der ‚Future Africa Visions in Time‘ (FAVT) Ausstellungseröffnungsreihe, veranstaltete die Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Goethe-Zentrum Kampala ein offenes Symposium, welches die Chancen und Herausforderungen einer aufsteigenden Mittelklasse in Afrika im Allgemeinen, insbesondere aber auch in Uganda, herausstellen sollte.
