This yearly event will take place for the eleventh time and will be entitled with “Multilateral Security Governance”.

The conference will examine topics of international security of common interest for Brazil and Europe, pointing out possible cooperation’s and common challenges. Traditionally the event counts with contributions from high ranked government functionaries, politicians, members of civil society and academics.

Through lectures and panels will be reflected how Brazil sees its position in the international system, which are the Brazilian aspirations regarding current changes in the international order and the way in which the country thinks about its regional and global actions on medium and long term.

The agenda includes topics pertaining to the sphere of the strategic, as well as issues which are more specific in nature.

During the opening speech, views and perspectives on the future of a multilateral security governance will be presented.

The first panel will take on the questions retaining the return of geopolitics and the implications of the rise of ISIS as well as the situation in the Ukraine for International Order and the International System in general.

The second panel will discuss the topic of cyber security, the changed landscape in the wake of s number of revelations, as well how the question of cyber governance could/should be handled.

This year marking 200 years of the start of the Congress of Vienna as well as 100 years of the Great War, the present speakers will debate whether there are lessons for the generation of politicians of diplomats of our own times.

The conference will be held in English and Portuguese.

It is not possible to sign up during the conference. The event is free and there will be certificates available for those interested after event upon request by email.
