In 2024, two years after Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the NATO Security Assistance and Training for Ukraine (NSATU) was launched - a dedicated NATO mission to coordinate and streamline international military support for Ukraine. Headquartered in Wiesbaden, Germany, NSATU centralizes the training of Ukrainian forces, manages the delivery and maintenance of donated equipment, and helps modernize Ukraine’s military in line with NATO standards. With around 700 personnel from across NATO and partner nations, NSATU replaces fragmented support efforts with a unified, long-term framework—demonstrating NATO’s enduring commitment to Ukraine’s security and its future in the Euro-Atlantic community.
