Lessons from Ukraine for the Baltic Sea region were the focus of a panel moderated by Thomas Birringer, Director of KAS Ukraine, at the Kiel Security Conference.
This gathering of high-ranking military officials, security experts, and politicians is organized annually in Kiel by KAS and the IISS, and was initiated by the current German Foreign Minister, Johann Wadephul, who was also in attendance this year.
Lesya Orobets, from the Ukrainian NGO 'Price of Freedom' and a former Member of Parliament, joined Niclas Herbst from the European Parliament, Vice Admiral Jeffrey Anderson, Commander of the US 6th Fleet, and other experts to discuss topics including naval drone warfare, combating the Russian shadow fleet, and Europe's defense capabilities in cooperation with Ukraine.
