The Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung hosted together with The Centre for the Study of European Politics and Society at the Ben Gurion University of the Negev the Bologna Training Center annual Conference. Developing Shared Space in Divided Societies

In cooperation with the Jerusalem Institute for Policy Research the KAS-Office Jerusalem held the 4th session of the joint “Kollek-Adenauer-Program” for creation of shared spaces in Jerusalem. Speaker of this session was Prof. Frank Gaffikin from Queens University, Belfast who gave an insight in his work on urban planning for the development of shared spaces in divided cities such as Belfast.

The Future of Israeli-European Relations in the eyes of Young Proffesionals

“THE ISRAEL-EUROPE FUTURE TASK FORCE” PROJECT

KAS Israel launched a series of workshops in cooperation with YPFP Tel-Aviv on the topic of Israeli-European relations. The participants included representatives from different European embassies, journalists, Academic researchers and representatives from various other Non-Governmental and Governmental organizations. The group heard from Mr. Shmuel (Sammy) Revel, Head of Europe Division in the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs and discussed the “Shared Interests and Common Challenges”, and later engaged in a workshop that explored the necessary skills in today's changing global environment.

30 Years to the first Intifada

In memory of Prof. Yaacov Bar-Siman-Tov

KAS Israel held an excellent event together with the Jerusalem Institute for Policy Research marking 30 years from the first Intifada and in memory of Prof. Yaacov Bar-Siman-Tov, with whom we had a long partnership with as the former head of the Jerusalem Institute for Israel Studies. We were pleased to host the experts Col. (res.) David Haham, Dr. Col. (res.) Moshe Elad and Professor Hillel Cohen who provided a very thorough analysis and history of the first intifada for the audience.

Together with our partner, the Tel Aviv Salon, 210 young professionals came together to listen to Mr. Ya’alon speak about the current political status quo and his political future.

Conference of Young Researchers in European Studies and African Studies in Israel

In cooperation with The Centre for the Study of European Politics and Society, Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung co-hosted on January 16 the sixth annual Conference of Young Researchers in European Studies at the Ben-Gurion University of the Negev. This year the conference was organized as a joint initiative together with the Tamar Golan Africa Centre, as the focus of the conference this year was on immigration. The aim of this conference was to reflect together on African and European Studies and through exchange of knowledge, to enhance the research and study capacities in this field.

From Storytelling to Activism

On February 24-25th the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung in Israel held a two-day seminar. More than fifty Palestinian and Israeli high-school students participated in it. The seminar aimed to enable the students to emerge from their personal and national narratives in order to find a common ground between the two peoples and eventually to become more active in their communities.
