What are the main topics presented in the website?

The website is designed to provide the reader with systematic and comprehensive knowledge about Europe's treaties, founders, politicians, institutions, laws, and economy, as well as detailed information on culture, ecology, tourism, sport, cuisine, and even a monthly featured spotlight on a specific EU member country.

Is there a need for such a website in Israel?

Definitely! A website like this one is helpful for two reasons: First because it provides knowledge about Europe's history, society, and culture. While on the other hand the website is a wealthy source of info about EU politicians, institutions, economy, and laws.

How much does the Israeli public know about Europe and the EU?

According to a recent public opinion poll organized by the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung we know today that the Israeli public knows a lot about Europe regarding the topics of specific countries, but when it comes to the whole picture of the EU, considering the politicians, institutions, culture, society, laws, and economy, the average Israeli people do not know as much as they think they do.

Are there other Websites of that type?

From our research our website is pioneering in a few aspects. At first, it is the first website in Hebrew which is dedicated entirely to Europe and the EU. Second, it is the first website that provides the reader with systematic and comprehensive knowledge. Third, the website combines fun with these issues. And at least, eventually, the website is intended to be of service for all ages, from children in elementary school to senior citizens.

What are your plans and aspirations for the future?

The website will be formally launched on January 1, 2012. Currently, almost one thousand people visited it. I hope the website will contribute to a deepening of the knowledge, which will lead to a better understanding of Europe and the EU, in every Israeli home.

Thank you very much, Ido.

The questions were asked by Catherine Hirschwitz.
