3rd Group of CA Training - KID VWP Project for the ECCC and Beyond

28 citizen advisors from Prey Veng and Svay Rieng provinces will be trained on victims’ participation at the ECCC on how to educate and encouraging victims' participation in the ECCC process by lodging complainants, making statements as witnesses.

Public Campaigns on New District Administration Structure

Public information campaigns will be held in the towns of Battambang and Siem Reap from October 22 to 26, 2007. Citizens will be provided with information on the new administration structure of the district: tourism office, OWSO, JPA and e-government

Ten Years of the Cambodian Employment and Labour Law

The conference provides a review of the experiences made under the Employment and Labour Law, 10 years after it was passed. Recommendations for possible improvement of the law are discussed. Launching of a book on the law in the Khmer language.

Launching of Tourist Office in Siem Reap District

Adjacent to the One Window Service Office in Siem Reap, a tourist office will be launched on 18 October 2007. The office will provide additional convenience for tourists and inform about the Angkor Archaeological Park and other points of interest.

26 citizen advisors from Kratie province will be trained on victims' participation in the Khmer Rouge Tribunal Process. They will encourage victims' participation complainants, witness or civil party in the Khmer Rouge Tribunal at their villages

The Technical Coordination Office-Phnom Penh will provide a training course on Regulations and Tasks of District Councils in Siem Reap. The training shall enhance the district councils’ skills in examining its budget and ordinances (Deica).

The series consists of three separate volumes, containing economic development, culture and society, as well as international relations and governance respectively.

Smart waste business models and innovations for a clean Cambodia!

If you’re buying a meal in Cambodia to takeaway you can expect to get a plastic box with food in it, a plastic set of cutleries all packed up in a plastic bag. Your drink is going to be in a plastic cup with a plastic straw which is wrapped in plastic. But that’s still not it, the plastic cup will be put in another small plastic bag for you to hold. So, it seems quite logical, that an average Cambodian household uses 12 plastic bags a day, doesn’t it? Almost half of them will be burnt later and the rest ends up in the sea. With one of the fastest growing economy and a growing consumer market, Cambodia is generating significant amounts of waste. Phnom Penh alone already produces 3000 tons of garbage per day and the issue of waste will be more important every day. The landfills are being filled up more and more and manmade waste mountains will be the norm. But as technologies are getting more and more advanced, many start-ups are coming up with new innovative ideas to counteract.
