Duties, Rights and Obligations of Members of Parliament, Governors and Senators
Devolution led to a bicameral legislative. National Members of Parliament have to cooperate with Senators coming from the 47 counties. Furthermore every county has a governor. The workshop aims at opening up avenues of cooperation between all actors.
Promotion of Devolution and the Work of Petition Committees
With the new constitution of 2010 came not only devolution, but also the strengthening of avenues for citizen participation, such as by handing in petitions. We aim at training multipliers in order to enable citizens to make use of their rights.
Land Ownership Legislation
How can politicians at the county level effectively enforce citizens’ rights?
Politicians in the counties often have little knowledge on legislation, given the fact that the counties and the surrounding legislation are only really being implemented since 2013. The workshop aims at enhancing their knowledge on land ownership.
THE POSITION OF WOMEN IN THE NEW DISPENSATION
Towards the Realisation of Constitutionalism in the New Governance System:
This workshop aims at equipping community based organizations and opinion shapers, especially women, to aks for the information acquired by the grassroots to understand the constitutional quota of the women as provided for in the constitution.
Functions of State and County Governments.
The workshop enhances citizens’ knowledge on constitutionalism and the position of the common man and women within the constitution.
Social Market Economy
The workshop covers selected aspects of social market economy, embedding them into the context of the 2010 constitution.

The workshop aims at enhancing citizens’ knowledge on avenues of participation created by the new constitution that was introduced in 2010.
The Position of the Member of Parliament vis-a-vis the Senator
The workshop will focus on volunteerism and community service at the county level and will provide an overview of the impact of volunteerism, both on the volunteers themselves and the communities they serve.
Women and War
The workshop aims at giving a platform to women from all ethnic tribes to meet and take a common stand on women’s role in war and, more importantly, the promotion of peace.
