As part of a workshop, which the Konrad Adenauer Foundation organized together with LOST and the Women's Committee, located at the municipality of Baalbek, earlier this year, the members of the Women Committee identified food security and social peace in Baalbek as a pressing issue and organized the conference on how to deal with these topics. The event aims to work with local stakeholders, the Ministry of Agriculture, UN agencies and international NGOs to develop solutions to guarantee food security. In addition, the conference also contributes to conflict prevention and the peaceful coexistence of the local population and Syrian refugees residing there.
