On June 28th, 2025, leading political thinkers, diplomats, and experts convened at USJ Beirut for the fourth edition of the "Convention: A National Dialogue About the New Lebanon." Organized by Lebanon Message in partnership with the Konrad Adenauer Foundation – Lebanon, this timely gathering addressed the shifting geopolitical landscape in the Middle East and its implications for Lebanon's foreign policy future.

The event opened with remarks from Lina Hamdan, Board Member of the Lebanese National Convention (LNC), and Michael Bauer, Director of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation – Lebanon, setting the stage for a day of critical reflection and policy-oriented dialogue.

Highlights included:

  • Panel 1: A deep dive into Iran’s regional influence, moderated by Fadi Chahwan, with expert insights from Dr. Saleh Al-Mashnouk and General Khalil Helou.
  • Panel 2: A focused discussion on Syria’s new geopolitical dynamics, moderated by journalist Paula Astih, featuring Dr. Bassam Al-Shaab and Dr. Hareth Suleiman.
  • Panel 3: A strategic vision for Lebanon’s foreign policy, moderated by Dany Haddad, concluded with a keynote by Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Youssef Raggi.
The event brought together diverse voices to explore pathways toward a more proactive, sustainable, and sovereign foreign policy for Lebanon—one responsive to regional shifts and rooted in national interest.
