Lebanon Delegation at CDU Party Congress

Meeting with Chancellor of Germany,Dr. Angela Merkel

The delegation from Lebanon, consisting of representatives of the Kataeb Party and the Lebanese Forces Party, participated in the CDU Party Congress in Essen, Germany, following the invitation of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation's Lebanon program. They had the great opportunity to meet the Chancellor of Germany and Head of the CDU, Dr. Angela Merkel, during their three-day consultations.

Following the invitation of the Konrad Adenauer Foundations' Lebanon program, a delegation from Lebanon participated in the CDU Party Congress in Essen, Germany. The delegation had the opportunity to take part in the bilateral and multilateral consultations as well as to meet the Chancellor of Germany and head of the CDU, Dr. Angela Merkel.

The Delegation consisted of

  • the former Minister of Tourism Joseph Sarkis (Lebanese Forces Party)

  • Member of Parliament Samer Saade (Kataeb Party)

  • Chairwoman of the Department of International Affairs Elsy Oueiss (Lebanese Forces Party)

  • the International Secretary of Kataeb Party Marwan Abdallah

  • Resident Representative of KAS Lebanon Peter Rimmele.

The three-day congress was seen as a great success for future relations between Lebanon and Germany, as well as prospering cooperation between the CDU and the Kataeb Party as well as the Lebanese Forces Party.
