Details
Diplomasi Lab is a virtual capacity-building programme which aims to empower Malaysian youths to advocate policies and strategies relating to foreign affairs and SDG literacy, by exposing them to the related knowledge and diplomatic skill sets such as democratic values, negotiation, advocacy engagement and many more in two months.
Why do we curate Diplomasi Lab?
- Important and useful skill sets like diplomacy and others are not taught formally in school resulting in Malaysian youths having difficulties in negotiating and dealing with international affairs adequately.
- The current Malaysian education system puts less emphasis on understanding global issues which affects the ability of students to critically dissect the issues and solve them.
-
Malaysian youths are not groomed and exposed to be delegates and/or participate in the the decision-making process of Malaysia's foreign policy.
What will you gain from Diplomasi Lab?
-
Participants will be exposed to the concept of diplomacy and foreign affairs and keen to know more.
-
Participants will be able to utilise the skills such as negotiation, advocacy, lobbying and more in advancing grassroots changes within the community, especially with the causes they are passionate about.
-
Participants can contribute their voices as a youth in reshaping the outlook of Malaysia's foreign policy to be more inclusive and comprehensive.
