Under the theme "Strategic Foresight for Decision-Making", ICESCO in partnership with Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung, Rabat Office, provided a two-day training session for executives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in Nouakchott.
In his opening remarks, Steffen Krueger, Country Director of Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung, Rabat office, welcomed the choice of naming Nouakchott as cultural capital of the Islamic world for 2023. He informed the audience of the foundation's mission throughout the world and, particularly, through the actions of the Rabat office which who is responsible for the cooperation projects in Morocco and Mauritania.
For his part, Sidi Mohamed Ould Dad, Acting Secretary General of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in Nouakchott, thanked ICESCO for having taken the initiative to share the knowledge acquired in terms of foresight. In this sense, 25 executives from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in Nouakchott benefited from an intensive training session provided by Dr. Kais Hammami.
Declared on 6 January at the Palais des Congrès in Nouakchott as the cultural capital of the Islamic world for the year 2023, the Mauritanian capital is distinguished by its cultural richness in terms of poetry, fiqh, literature, traditions and other local specificities which make Nouakchott an exceptional cultural destination.
The setting up of this training session is a direct response to our objective of promoting innovation in the management of future issues. To this end, KAS and the centre have organised a series of foresight training sessions for students, researchers, managers and senior officials.
