15 experts from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Germany, Macedonia, Moldova and Serbia reported about whether or not media help society in coming to terms with the recent past. The experts’ meeting took place in Tirana from 19th to 21th of October. Based on the workshop, the participants drafted practical recommendations on self-regulation and legal issues concerning coming to terms with the past in South East Europe. These guidelines for media are available here.
On legal issues, the KAS Media Program cooperates with the "Article 10 EHCR" Task Force of Prof. Dr. Johannes Weberling (Viadrina European University Frankfurt/ Oder). Experts from Germany and South East Europe analyse the media development in their countries from a legal point of view. The name of the Task Force is derived from the European Convention on Human Rights – it describes the right to freedom of expression in Article 10.
