IX. South East Europe Media Forum

The KAS Media Program South East Europe invites media executives and journalists to the IX. South East Europe Media Forum (SEEMF). Co-hosts are the South East Europe Media Organisation (SEEMO) and the Central European Initiative (CEI).

Details

The theme of this year's SEEMF is "Media in South East Europe: The Struggle for Success on the Web". Discussions will cover the media and politics in Romania, legal regulations for web content on a European level and the relationship between online journalists and their audience. A session will also be dedicated to innovative business models.

During the opening ceremony, the "CEI SEEMO Award for Investigative Journalism" 2015 will be granted by SEEMO Secretary General Oliver Vujović, Margot Klestil-Löffler, Alternate Secretary General of CEI and Christian Spahr, Head of the KAS Media Program South East Europe. Moreover, the KAS Media Program South East Europe and Freedom House Romania will grant "The Young Journalist of the Year 2015 Award" (TJA).

The SEEMF has been organised annually since 2007 und is nowadays the biggest media event in South East Europe. More than 300 media experts from 20 countries took part in the SEEMF 2014 in Skopje. Previous forums took place in Sarajevo (2013), Budva (2012), Belgrade (2011), Budapest (2010), Tirana (2009), Sofia (2008) and Zagreb (2007).
