“International Hydro-diplomacy: Building and Strengthening Regional Institutions for Water Conflict Prevention - Pre-Conference Study 2021”.
Water, a fundamental resource for human life, is becoming increasingly scarce. This could happen at different scales, from local to international level, as countries around the world compete for hydro resources.
To this end, the EU has shown strong interest in expanding its water diplomacy initiatives to support global governance. A key objective of this diplomatic process is to engage in the promotion of long-term cooperative approaches to address transboundary challenges.
