The year 2025 marks a significant milestone in Africa-Europe relations: It has been 25 years since the first formal political agreement between the African Union (AU) and the European Union (EU) at the inaugural AU-EU Summit held in Cairo in 2000. On 21st May 2025, Brussels will host the 3rd AU-EU Ministerial Meeting, a key moment to further enhance cooperation between Africa and Europe. At this Adenauer Forum, we will reflect on the current state and future direction of Africa-Europe relations ahead of the Ministerial Meeting.
