After all, however, voters were obviously not satisfied with current politics. The welfare state's performance in education and health, which is increasingly perceived as inadequate, high energy and living costs and the extremely high national debt by Nordic standards were precisely the issues that dominated the election campaign in recent weeks and ultimately caused the election defeat of to the social-democratic coalition after only four years. The task of forming a new government now clearly lies with the election winner Petteri Orpo and his National Coalition Party, Kokoomus.

In terms of figures, this is only possible if Kokoomus joins forces with either the True Finns or the Social Democrats and finds another party for the majority, such as the Christian Democrats or the Swedish People's Party. Under these conditions, the formation of a government will remain exciting in the coming weeks.
