High-ranking representatives from the country and abroad, members of the diplomatic corps, the academic community, students and other relevant stakeholders will discuss the current situation in the European Union, with a focus on enlargement and the Macedonian perspective in that context.
The opening address at the event will be delivered by Afrim Gashi, President of the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia; Prof. Dr Norbert Lammert, President of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation / 12th President of the German Bundestag (2005-2017) and Mikuláš Dzurinda, President of the Wilfried Martens Centre for European Studies / Former Prime Minister of Slovakia (1998 – 2006).
The panel discussion on the topic “Shaping the Future - EU Integration as Path Forward for North Macedonia” will be attended by the following speakers:

Prior to the opening address, the event will be formally opened by Mileva Gjurovska, President of the European Movement; Daniel Braun, Official Representative of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation and Katerina Jakimovska, Senior Project Officer Wilfried Martens Centre for European Studies.
The panel discussion will be moderated by Katerina Sinadinovska, Editor of the TV Magazine “Agenda 35”.
At this event, the plaque for European Person of the Year for 2024 will be awarded to Risima Risimkin, Macedonian ballerina, choreographer, artist and university professor.
After the panel discussion and the award of the European Person of the Year, guests will be invited for a cocktail.
The second part of the event will be organized as a Youth Club, which will include a Youth Debate on the topic “The Voice of Youth for Europe – Ideas for a Better Life and a Fairer Society,” with the participation of Dragana Bojkovska, MP / Coordinator of the Parliamentary Club on Youth Affairs and Policies; Filip Ivkovski, President of the National Youth Council; and a representative from the Delegation of the European Union. The program will also include an Oratory Competition with participation of students from different universities in the country, as well as an EU Knowledge Quiz with participation of high school students from schools in the City of Skopje.
The working languages of the event are Macedonian, Albanian and English (with simultaneous interpretation provided).
