Vietnam – Partner for Prosperity through Free Trade and Innovation

by Florian Feyerabend

A Case Study from the Partner-Atlas

A "socialist-oriented market economy"determines the economy of Vietnam. More than three decades of continuous economic growth and political stability have resulted in communist-ruled Vietnam establishing itself as an influential actor not only in Southeast Asia. Vietnam is, for example, linked to the EU through the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) that recently came into effect, and to Germany through a Strategic Partnership.

Within the EU, Germany is Vietnam's largest trading partner. Many German companies are already represented in Vietnam. What relevance and what potential does Vietnam have for Germany for maintaining prosperity? The following text sheds light on these and other questions, which is taken from the Partner-Atlas, a reference work that shows which German foreign policy interests can be realized with which international partners.

More information can be found in Youtube, and Instagram.
