Leaders for Justice 2023

The first edition of the “Leaders for Justice”, an annual project organized by the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Rule of Law Programme Middle East and North Africa.

Targeting young jurists, the Leaders for Justice program consists of two one-week workshops, the first one of which (subject of this report) was held in Berlin, Germany from the 19th till the 23rd of June, 2023.

Workshop: Best practices in the profession of a lawyer in the MENA region

A two-day workshop of the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung in partnership with the German Federal Bar Association, and the Beirut and Tripoli Bar Associations.

On March 13 and 14, 2023, a workshop titled "Best practice in the profession of a lawyer in the region" was held in collaboration with the Konrad Adenauer Foundation's Rule of Law Program Middle East and North Africa, the German Federal Bar Association, and both the Beirut and Tripoli Bar Associations.

Arab Women in the judiciary: Achievements and Challenges

A regional conference on the occasion of the second International Day of Women Judges

March 8th, 2023, the MENA Rule of Law Programme at the KAS organized a regional workshop, on the challenges and achievements of the Arab female judges, in cooperation with the International Center for Human Sciences (CISH) - UNESCO, Byblos and in collaboration with the Qatar University College of Law. This event took place at the Qatar University campus in Doha, Qatar.

Conference on "Law on Biodiversity, Nature Conservation, and Cultural Heritage Protection in the Middle East and North African Region".

Organizers, partners, and sponsors of the conference are, a.o., UNDP, SADER, KAS Rule of Law Programme MENA, ASSELLMU, the Jordanian Society for Climate and Sustainable Development, and the Al-Khataibeh Center.

On February 27 and 28, 2023, a workshop in cooperation with the Rule of Law Program Middle East and North Africa of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation and the Association of Environmental Law Lectures in Middle East and North African Universities took place in Amman, Jordan.

Lawyers of Tomorrow

An international conference and workshop in cooperation with the Lebanon Law Review in Beirut, Lebanon.

On Thursday, the 9th of February 2023, the Rule of Law Program Middle East and North Africa of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS), in cooperation with the Lebanon Law Review (LLR) organized a one-day conference and workshop entitled “Lawyers of Tomorrow”. The conference took place at the Hilton Metropolitan, Beirut, with the participation of more than 200 attendees mainly young lawyers, and students.

Rule of Law FORUM
