Am 20. Oktober 2011 empfing die KAS Dar es Salaam eine Delegation ihres Partners JUWAQUTA zu einem Diskussions- und Planungstreffen. Die kleine Delegation wurde vom Vorsitzenden des Verbands der Koranschullehrer in Tansania, Alhaj Sheikh Alhad Musa Salum, zugleich Sheikh der Region Dar es Salaam, geleitet.

On 16 June 2011, the Secretariat of the East African Community (EAC) and the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) Tanzania Country Office jointly organized a roundtable discussion titled “Ambition and Reality of the East African Community in a Globalized World“. The dialogue held in Arusha was attended by among others, the former German President, Prof. Dr. Horst Köhler who believes the EAC is the right project for the East Africa; and the Secretary General of the East African Community, Amb. Dr. Richard Sezibera.

Am 12. März führten KAS und CETA (Civic Education Teachers Association) eine gemeinsame Diskussionsveranstaltung mit Sekundarschülern zur anstehenden Verfassungsrefom durch. Veranstaltungsort war die historische Karimjee Hall, früher einmal Tagungsort des tansanischen Parlaments war. Die engagierte Diskussion der teilnehmenden Schüler erinnerte an so manche Parlamentsdebatte, die am gleichen Ort stattgefunden hatte.

Simba, Chui und Duma - Wahlkampf 2.0 in Tansania

Digitale Politische Kommunikation in Dar es Salaam

Wahlkampf auf Kisuaheli in Tansania: Simba (der Löwe) ist stolz und stark. Chui (der Leopard) kann auf seine List und Schläue zählen. Und Duma (der Gepard) saust schnell wie der Wind. „Alles Eigenschaften, die einen guten Wahlkämpfer ausmachen“, lächelt Stefan Reith, der KAS-Repräsentant in Dar es Salaam – und benennt dann drei Arbeitsgruppen nach den berühmten Tieren der Region. Die Teilnehmer applaudieren spontan. Willkommen zur abschließenden Übung des Workshops „Introducing the Digital Toolkit – for Political Parties in Campaigns and Beyond“ am 9. April in Dar/Tansania.
