Internship at the KAS Office in Bangkok, Thailand

 

Requirements:

• An 8-12 Week commitment;
• Studying for a university degree in either politics, social sciences, economics or law;
• Proficiency in spoken and written German and English;
• An understanding of international politics and social issues is expected and knowledge of Thai culture is an advantage.

Tasks:

• Support the KAS in organizing events;
• Assist scientific research;
• Participate in the KAS-supported events and write summary reports;
• Help to prepare short political reports, articles and essays;
• Support KAS's daily routines and office work.

This internship is unpaid. You must pay for traveling, accommodation and other running costs on your own. However, we help you to prepare and plan your stay.

 

Required documents for application:

 

Due to the large amount of applications we receive, we recommend to email your application (preferably as one attached file) at least 6 months before you want to start your internship.

 

Your application should contain the following documents and information:

• Cover letter in German or English
• CV with photo
• Certificates of education
• Preferred period of stay and field of work.

 

Visa:

Citizens of Germany are permitted to stay in Thailand for up to 30 days if entering via international airport and up to 15 days if entering through a land border checkpoint from a neighboring country (Laos, Myanmar and Cambodia) under the Visa Exemption Rule. However, due to Covid-19 pandemic, the border control at each country has many procedures. Therefore, we advise you to apply for a 3-month, non-immigrant ED visa at a Thai Embassy or Consulate in the country where you live. In some countries you are eligible to apply online for a visa; for more information, check the website: https://www.thaievisa.go.th/. After a KAS Resident Representative has approved your internship, we will send you the required documents for your visa application process.
