ACADEMIC FORUM 2026 EXPLORES VIETNAM’S STRATEGIC CHOICES IN A FRAGMENTED WORLD

On 10-11 September 2026, the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) Vietnam and the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam (DAV) jointly organized the Academic Forum 2026 in Hanoi under the theme "Vietnam's Strategic Choices: Middle Power Diplomacy in a Fragmented World." Held against the backdrop of intensifying geopolitical competition, economic fragmentation, rapid technological change, and growing transnational challenges, the forum served as a timely venue for academic exchange on the evolving role of middle powers in international affairs.

THE 15TH OCEAN DIALOGUE

FROM AGREEMENT TO ACTION: IMPLEMENTING BBNJ FOR EQUITABLE AND EFFECTIVE OCEAN GOVERNANCE

On 18 September 2026, the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) Vietnam and the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam (DAV) jointly organized the 15th Ocean Dialogue in Hanoi under the theme “From Agreement to Action: Implementing BBNJ for Equitable and Effective Ocean Governance.” The event brought together leading scholars, diplomats, legal experts, policymakers, and practitioners from Vietnam and abroad to exchange views on promoting the effective implementation of the Agreement on the Conservation and Sustainable Use of Marine Biological Diversity of Areas beyond National Jurisdiction (BBNJ Agreement).

ENHANCING ADR FOR A MORE COMPETITIVE AND INVESTOR-FRIENDLY HO CHI MINH CITY

On 20 August 2026, the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) Vietnam, in cooperation with the Research Institute for Socio-Economics (RISE) of Saigon University, successfully co-hosted the international conference “Enhancing the Effectiveness of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Mechanisms in Commercial and Investment Dispute Settlement in Ho Chi Minh City.”

Parliamentary Exchange, Innovation Partnerships and Economic Resilience

Strengthening Viet Nam–Germany Cooperation

BERLIN – As Viet Nam pursues ambitious goals of innovation-led growth, digital transformation and sustainable development, institutional quality, economic resilience and international cooperation have become increasingly important policy priorities. Against this backdrop, a study tour to Germany organized by Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) Vietnam from July 6–10 brought together Vietnamese lawmakers, policymakers, researchers and academics to exchange views with German counterparts on governance, innovation and the future of the Viet Nam–Germany Strategic Partnership. The delegation included representatives from the National Assembly, the Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies under the Central Commission for Policy and Strategy, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Viet Nam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), and academia. Reflecting KAS Vietnam’s role as a platform for policy dialogue, the programme connected Vietnamese stakeholders with German legislators, government officials, business leaders, researchers and academic institutions.

Sharing Experiences and Strengthening Capacity for Petitions and Supervision Work in Viet Nam

On July 7–8, 2026, the National Assembly’s Committee on Petitions and Supervision, in cooperation with the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) Vietnam Office, held the 2026 Conference on Petitions and Supervision for the Central and Central Highlands Region in Da Nang City. Organized during the first year of the 16th National Assembly’s tenure, the conference aimed to disseminate new legal regulations, promote the sharing of practical experience, and strengthen the capacity of elected bodies in carrying out petitions and supervision work. The event was one of three regional conferences scheduled nationwide in 2026 to support the effective performance of elected institutions at both national and local levels.

ASEAN FUTURE FORUM 2026

Shaping Our Future Together: Peace, Prosperity, People-Centered

Following three days of substantive and forward-looking exchanges from 8-10 June in Hanoi, the third ASEAN Future Forum (AFF) 2026 concluded successfully, further consolidating its position as a leading Track 1.5 platform dedicated to shaping ASEAN’s future trajectory. Held under the theme “Shaping Our Future Together: Peace, Prosperity, People-Centered,” the Forum brought together a diverse and influential group of participants, including five Prime Ministers, senior government officials, policymakers, academics, business leaders, and youth representatives from across ASEAN and its partner countries.

Recalibrating U.S.- China Relations: Implications of the Trump - Xi Summit

On May 4th, 2026, Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) Vietnam, in close cooperation with the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam (DAV), successfully hosted the 26th edition of the China Talk Series, titled “Recalibrating U.S. - China Relations: Implications of the Trump - Xi Summit.” The event continued the long-standing tradition of providing a platform for dialogue on China-related strategic and geopolitical issues of regional and global significance

Visit of MP Nicolas Zippelius to Vietnam

MP Nicolas Zippelius, Member of the Committee on Economic Cooperation and Development and the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the German Bundestag, visited Vietnam in early April 2026. The program organised by Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Vietnam aimed at strengthening relations between Vietnam and Germany and fostering dialogue about topics of mutual concern.

ASSESSMENT OF TOP 500 VIETNAMESE PRIVATE ENTERPRISES (VPE500 – REPORT 2025)

Hanoi, November 6, 2025 - Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Vietnam and the National Institute for Economics and Finance (NIEF) under the Ministry of Finance co-hosted the workshop “Assessment of Top 500 Vietnamese Private Enterprises (VPE500 – Report 2025)”. The event brought together policymakers, economists, business executives, and researchers to discuss new evidence on the structure, performance, and policy environment of Vietnam’s largest private enterprises.

DOI MOI TURNS 40: REVISITING VIETNAM’S TRANSITION AND ITS FOREIGN POLICY

Hanoi, 7 November 2025 – The Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Vietnam, in partnership with the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam (DAV), hosted an international conference titled “DOI MOI TURNS 40: REVISITING VIETNAM’S TRANSITION AND ITS FOREIGN POLICY”. The conference gathered senior diplomats, renowned Vietnamese and international scholars, and emerging researchers for a dynamic dialogue on Vietnam’s socio-economic transformation and its evolving role on the world stage.
