Daniel Caspary highlighted that de-risking is not just a topic for Sunday-speeches but to be included in all aspects of policymaking. The EU should strengthen supply chains, forge partnerships with likeminded partners and where necessary take adjustment measures to reduced risks. During the next legislative agenda more concrete measures should be taken to manage risks together with partners.⚡️💊Dr. Jan Cernicky, Head of the Economy & Innovation at Department at KAS, Tim Peter, Policy Advisor Competitiveness of Europe at KAS elaborated on how de-risking from China could look like for critical raw materials and pharmaceutical industry.
🇪🇺 David Merkle, Policy Advisor for China at KAS, shared his views on how the Chinese de-risking strategy from Europe is already evolving. Europeans should take this strategy of technological independence more seriously and react accordingly, e.g. through further diversification.
