Griots Conference Kampala

Last week in Kampala, the Griots Conference brought together storytellers, creatives, and young leaders for conversations on leadership, identity and African narratives. Inspired by the traditional griot, the West African storytellers, the conference allowed each fellow to take the stage and deliver a 10-minute, TED-style talk, sharing their personal journey as a leader on the African continent. The talks were deeply personal, going beyond professional achievements to explore the challenges and lived experiences that have shaped each griot’s path. From local leadership to entrepreneurship, the stories reflected the vision of a new generation of African changemakers. The event was co-hosted with the LéO Africa Institute.
