The Forte de Copacabana International Security Conference reaches its 16th edition in the midst of a socioeconomic revolution that has never been felt in such a profound way. On September 20th, 2019, besides the participation of the Minister of Defence of Brazil, Fernando Azevedo e Silva, and the Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy of Germany, Thomas Bareiß, security specialists from Latin America and Europe will meet in Rio de Janeiro to discuss the developments of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and their impacts on international security.

The following themes will also be focused on the conference: artificial intelligence in the balance of power in international politics and the gender factor in international security.

The Conference is being organized in partnership with the Brazilian Center for International Relations (CEBRI) and is supported by the Delegation of the European Union in Brazil.
