During his three-day visit to Brazil, Dr. Klaus Schüler met with Representative Mr. José Agripino Maia, Chairman of the Liberals Democrats (DEM) for an exchange of viewpoints and experiences. The Brazilian federal representative Mr. José Carlos Aleluia, Chairman of the DEM-close Freedom and Citizenship Foundation briefed Campaign Manager Dr. Schüler about the tasks and contents inherent to the Brazilian foundation. Subsequently Messrs Schüler and Kokert informed themselves in talks with Bruno Kazuhiro, chairman of the Upcoming Democrats on the work routine of young talent development of a political party’s youth organization. In much the same manner, State Representative Vincent Kokert set out on his political career in a youth organization: the Jungen Union.
Messrs Schüler and Kokert were bid welcome by both the Brazilian National Congress, and its House of Representatives, in addition to Mr. Aécio Neves, Chairman of the PSDB and its presidential candidate. The meeting was also attended by further representatives, senators and former governors of the PSDB. Apart from the exchange of political viewpoints, the strengths and challenges of both the Brazilian and the German political system dominated the meeting’s work agenda. Both the Chairman of the PSDB und the Federal Manager of the CDU called for closer cooperation between Mr. Neve’s Social Democratic Party and the Christian Democratic Union of Germany.
As the Federal Manager of Germany’s Christian Democratic Union, Dr. Klaus Schüler is its top party diplomat and can look back on encompassing international experience. He has been responsible for successful CDU national electoral campaigns and heads the Campaign Managers’ Committee of the International Democratic Union.
Vincent Kokert is Secretary General of the CDU Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. At the state parliament of Schwerin he represents the Neustrelitz region and as parliamentary-group chairman he holds a prominent role at the Landtag of the federal state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
