Aufarbeitung vergangenen Unrechts und innere Aussöhnung

Was kann die Zivilgesellschaft leisten?

Vom 18. bis 19. Mai 2014 veranstalteten das Minerva Zentrum für Menschenrechte und die Juristische Fakultät der Hebräischen Universität Jerusalem in Zusammenarbeit mit der Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Israel ihre 3. Jahreskonferenz zum Thema „Die Rolle der Zivilgesellschaft bei der Aufarbeitung vergangenen Unrechts – Von internationalen Erfahrungen lernen“. Die teilnehmenden Wissenschaftler zeigten sowohl unerkanntes Potential als auch Grenzen der Einflussmöglichkeiten zivilgesellschaftlicher Akteure und Organisationen in diesem Bereich auf.

Passive Observer of Reality or Active Participant?

The writer’s roles and responsibilities in an era of political change

KAS Israel contributed to this year’s “International Writers Festival” in Jerusalem (May 18-23, 2014) by co-organizing the panel: “Passive Observer of Reality or Active Participant? The writer’s roles and responsibilities in an era of political change” on May 19. A numerous audience of visitors interested in literature as well as in politics had been attracted by the top-class composition of the panel and a positive preview in Ha’aretz.

Mai 2013 veranstaltete die KAS Israel in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Zentrum für europäische Politik und Gesellschaft an der Ben-Gurion-Universität des Negev (BGU) den zweiten internationalen Workshop über den jüdischen Beitrag zum europäischen Integrationsprojekt. Der erste Workshop zu diesem Thema hatte am 7. Mai 2013 stattgefunden.

Transcending Geography, Time, and Money

On May 7th and 8th, the Harry S. Truman Research Institute for the Advancement of Peace at Hebrew University and KAS Israel co-organized an expert workshop on “Energy in the EasternMed: Transcending Geography, Time, and Money”. Its purpose was to investigate the implications of recent offshore energy discoveries in the Eastern Mediterranean – discoveries which are widely recognized as a game-changer, in both the global energy arena and in the geopolitics of the Middle East.

Politische Beratung und politische Bildung sind zwei wesentliche Aufgaben der KAS in der internationalen Zusammenarbeit und dienen der Förderung der rechtsstaatlichen und sozial verantwortlichen Demokratie im Einsatzland.

Two peoples, two states

Key questions raised by the current peace talks

On April 9, 2014, KAS Israel, the Geneva Initiative and the S. Daniel Abraham Center for Strategic Dialogue at the Netanya Academic College jointly hosted a conference on the key questions of the current peace talks and the regional implications of the establishment of a Palestinian state. More than 230 participants followed the two top-class panel discussions. The demand made by the Netanyahu government – that the Palestinians had to explicitly acknowledge Israel as a Jewish state – played a significant role in the course of the conference.

Die Verantwortung der jungen Generation für die Zukunft der deutsch-israelischen Beziehungen

KAS-Stipendiaten im Dialog mit Israelis

Vom 16. bis zum 22. März 2014 besuchten 15 Stipendiatinnen und Stipendiaten der Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung das Heilige Land und setzten sich im Rahmen des Studien- und Informationsprogramms der KAS mit der Verantwortung der jungen Generation für die Zukunft der deutsch-israelischen Beziehungen auseinander. Vor dem Hintergrund des bevorstehenden 50-jährigen Jubiläums der Aufnahme diplomatischer Beziehungen zwischen Deutschland und Israel traten die Teilnehmer in einen intensiven Dialog mit israelischen Akademikern sowie Entscheidungsträgern aus Politik und Zivilgesellschaft.
