Expert conference
Details
From 30 November – 2 December Konrad Adenauer Stiftung is hosting its second inter-regional conference “The Arab World in Transition – Chances for civil participation and challenges to cross-regional security at the Dead Sea in Jordan. The conference is organized by the Domestic Programmes Department in cooperation with the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung Jordan Office and the Regional Programme Gulf States.
Building on the success of last year’s conference “Between Europe and the Gulf”, which was organized by the Regional Programme Gulf States and Jordan Office, this year’s forum will discuss the recent changes in the MENA Region by participants from the Maghreb, the Levant, the Gulf and Germany. Not only should this conference give an insight on the developments in the Arab world and their challenges, but also it aims at building a network between the participants of the different Arab countries and Germany to cooperate in future. This forum between decision-makers, intellectuals, politicians and civil society should provide in-depth understanding of developments in the region and will be divided in different panels where speakers will talk among other objectives about political, economic and security challenges.
