Female Cartoonists

KAS Jordan Office, in cooperation with Wishbox Media and Omar Abdallat, will train five prospective female, Jordanian cartoonists in order to help improve their content and raise their platform in the market. The project will comprise of four training workshops and a networking event which will focus on cartoons in the Arab world; how cartoons are used in political/social/cultural commentary and its impact; developing  artistic skills for innovative cartoon work and creating content and marketing.

The project was launched in mid-January with the first workshop taking place via Zoom. The first workshop focused on the history of cartoons in the Arab world, traditional vs. contemporary cartoons and on prominent Arab cartoonists and how their work shaped this journalistic genre.
