An Analytical Review
The 2024 elections marked the first real test of Jordan’s recent political reforms. While they contributed to greater political pluralism and inclusivity, they also revealed key challenges that need to be addressed to sustain progress and improve future electoral processes. Addressing these gaps is essential to ensure that subsequent elections will strengthen, rather than weaken, public trust in democratic reform.
In this context, the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS), in partnership with the Al Quds Center for Political Studies, conducted an analytical study titled “The 2024 Elections and the Royal Committee's Recommendations: An Analytical Review”.
The study assesses the outcomes of the Royal Committee’s reform agenda, focusing on political party performance, electoral results, the composition of the new parliament, and the broader impact on Jordan’s political landscape. It also highlights key challenges, draws lessons learned, and presents practical recommendations for improving the Election Law, the Political Parties Law, and the system of public financial support for political parties.
