The Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung and the Democratic Renewal Movement published together a policy paper, titled “CEDRE Conference: Needed Reforms – From Text to Implementation”.

The paper is a follow-up activity to the experts roundtable organized by DRM and held on the 20th of April 2018, evaluating the outcomes of the CEDRE conference that took place shortly before in Paris.

The paper focuses on the necessary reforms as well as offering recommendations to launch the needed reform program that was agreed on during the conference. Three topics are observed in this paper:

  • Labor market reforms, presented by Dr. Najib Issa, university professor and economic consultant.
  • Tax and fiscal reforms by Mr. Karim Daher, president of the Lebanese Association for Taxpayers’ Rights.
  • Transparency and governance reforms by Dany Haddad, researcher and governance consultant.

The project was led by DRM Vice-President Dr. Antoine Haddad and coordinated by DRM Secretary General Mr. Ayman Mhanna.
