Dr. André Sleiman, DRI Country Representative, Omar Kabboul, LADE Executive Director, and Dr. Malte Gaier, the Resident Representative of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Lebanon, opened the “Assessment of the Lebanese Electoral Framework” conference.

The short introduction was followed by a speech by Ammar Abboud, elections expert at LADE, who asked the question: Did the new electoral law achieve any significant reforms? Subsequently, André Sleiman offered a critical reading of the new electoral law’s main points. The presentations, as well as the study, provided the audience with a comprehensive explanation of the new law no. 44, highlighting strengths and weaknesses. These were then further debated in a lively discussion between the participants and the experts.
