Direito Penal Internacional - Multinational Development Policy Dialogue Brussels
This publication is the result of the international seminar "International Criminal Law, the International Criminal Court and the Perspective of the Portuguese-Speaking African Countries" organized on 31 October and 1 November 2013 in the context of the celebrations of the 100 year jubilee of the Law Faculty of the Lisbon University (FDUL).
The Institute for Criminal Law and Criminal Sciences (IDPCC) of the FDUL and the Department of Foreign and International Criminal Law of the Institute of Criminal Sciences of the Georg-August University Göttingen were responsible for the academic coordination of the event.
The international seminar aimed to gather representatives of the African Countries that have Portuguese as official language (Angola, Cape Verde, Guine-Bissau, Mozambique and Sao Tome and Principe, also know by the acronym PALOP) and promote the dialogue among officials from these countries and representatives of the International Criminal Court (ICC). In this context, the event hoped to promote and increase the knowledge on the jurisdiction of the ICC under international criminal law and discuss its applicability for the countries of Lusophone Africa.
