The authors were pleased to discover that the topic of security cooperation was not high on the agenda as no crises existed which would have necessitated cooperation in this field. The volumes on regional integration have been published annually since 2001 and include contributions by leading specialists on the issues of regional integration in the SADC region. The yearbooks have established themselves as crucial points of reference for politicians, development experts and scholars.
